Now that Montaro is completely sound and healthy, Posa is hopping around on 3 legs. She can barely touch her right leg to the ground.
This can happen when the horses – who self-trim their own hooves – suddenly break off a large chunk of hoof, too close to the sole. Then the entire hoof is very tender and sore.
Except there is also a sheep missing. And Posa’s lying down in deep REM sleep with the herd nowhere in sight – not even her mother! I have NEVER seen this happen. Herd members always keep watch over the horse who is sleeping. What is going on??
