Personal Power, Coyote-watch & Rainbows

How can just hanging out with horses, DOING nothing be so enjoyable? Join us for this real-time video with the herd, just before sunset. FEEL what horse-time is like, sink into the sounds, nature, the rain and just BE with the herd. Makah has a pretty cool demo for us. Will coyote show him/herself? And mother nature is out in full glory.

For those of you who missed it, Coyote did show up for our Livestream on January 25th! And stayed for quite a while. Considering these animals are continually shot at by humans, it’s remarkable s/he was willing to leave herself exposed for so long during the livestream.

I actually like the fact that Coyote did not show himself in this video – despite my very focused ask. Because I think it’s important to show animals saying No. And for us humans to not only receive, but hold space for refusal.

So often we take the animal’s compliance as ‘proof’ of our ability to communicate – because our default of measuring success in relationship with animals is how well they listen to us! Our default is to train animals and then be so pleased with them (and ourselves) when they are ‘smart’ enough to do what we say. Imagine applying that same standard or expectation to your friend, or your grandma!

I’m sure Coyote had very good reason(s) for not appearing on this day. I trust Coyote and his/her judgment. It’s all good.

Hi Jini and wonderful, beautiful herd.

As I watched this video. I was totally waiting for coyote. But as it so happens the coyotes were with me instead. They came to get my chickens this week. And since my beautiful great pyrenees Eddie passed, the coyotes are here often. So could I tell coyote to please go away ? Is that something they would listen to? I love my chickens. They all have names and I only eat their eggs. Anyways my horses use to tell me when coyotes were around. Marigold would stand just like Kaliah. With the absence of Eddie are the coyotes trying to tell me something? The rain and rainbow was amazing and so was the beautiful sunset. Hugo made me laugh. Thank you.

    Hugs Paula

Paula I read a book where the guy was in exactly your situation. He made a deal with the coyotes that whenever a chicken died (for any reason) he would leave the carcass for them in a certain spot. Likewise, if any other animal died in his yard, he would leave the carcass for coyote in the designated spot. He chose somewhere far enough from his farmyard, but not too far for him to hike. In return, he asked that the coyotes not come and kill his chickens. He was AMAZED that coyote stuck to the deal and he likewise stuck to his end of the bargain, for years.

Eddie is sure beautiful though – I wouldn’t be surprised if you get another dog xo

    Jini.
Thats a truly amazing man. I love this idea and will pass it along to coyote. Eddie never killed a coyote…his presence alone was all they needed to know off to stay away. He was the best.

    Thanks Jini
