Vignettes of Beauty at the Singing Horse Ranch

Sometimes I am just overcome with the beauty of this 160 acre ranch in the Canadian wilderness, near Vernon BC. The beauty of the horses against the backdrop of huge mountain ranges and old-growth forests is arresting.

While the challenges of this ranch have not been small, the rewards have been great. I actually cannot say whether the horses like it better here than at our previous property down on the coast. They seem to enjoy life in both places.

But I definitely prefer it here. I absolutely adore living where I cannot hear a single leaf blower or lawn mower. I can walk around this whole property buck naked and no one can see me. I love the fact that if grocery stores no longer existed, this land could feed us all with what is already here, growing naturally. Along with a full medicine cabinet – mullein, St. John’s Wort, chammomile, comfrey, mint, stinging nettle, Oregon grape root, burdock root, milk thistle, plantain, yarrow and so many more!

I’m very pleased to share these scenes and slices of life on the ranch with you…
