Herd Guardian Montaro Initiates a Human Into the Herd

If you’ve ever wanted a way to explain to laypeople or skeptics how you listen to your horse; or what that looks/feels like, then just show them this video! What’s brilliant about it, is the story is told by someone who hasn’t had much contact with horses, so she herself is incredulous, skeptical and often doubtful as events unfold. Which of course, makes her story extra powerful.

My friend Jenny Andrews (aka Jenna Hive) tells us this jaw-dropping, incredibly heart-warming story of her life-changing experience during a meditation with my lead horse Montaro and the rest of the herd. We happened to have the cameras out as we were filming the integration of the 6 new wild mustangs into the herd, and so luckily managed to catch much of her story on film. Jen is a licensed Herbalist, who is also certified in hypnotherapy, EFT Tapping, Matrix Reimprinting and NLP – and one of the sweetest, loveliest humans you’ll ever meet. Enjoy…

I’d love to hear what you liked most about Jen’s story, or what was the most powerful aspect for you…

And a big squidgy thank-you hug to Kenneth Berentzen for putting this video together for us!

Ken had his own very moving experience with Montaro and Jax last year during JenKen’s 🙂 first visit. You can watch that here.

Holy Moly! Tears of connection and being moved so deeply by this video.
Yes I can also relate to the friendships in my life either dropping away or changing.
I am inspired by Jenna’s willingness to be open to what the horses were saying and to trust her own intuition.
What moves me most was how solid they were in being there for her and not moving until she moved first.
I don’t have my own horses but have been involved in different aspects of horse healing therapeutic workshops and have been exposed to different herds.
And I have to say, Jini’s herd of horses are very special in that they have retained their true wildness and aliveness and true herd behavior.
They are somehow still pure thanks to Jini’s method of communication and being with them and truly listening to them. They haven’t had to adjust their true horse personality and behavior and be molded into whatnthe human wants them to be.
    Great work Jini!!!
Can’t wait to meet hem someday.

Right?? I too found this story SO incredibly moving and heart-opening. I’m sure you’ll meet them someday Shivam – you’ll know when the time is right. And maybe your hubby will come too, to play some music to them 🙂

Yes, those of us in service to truth and growth can be pretty difficult to stay around. But I have to say, like Montaro and the herd teach in this vid, we can energetically stay loyal/connected, no matter what happens physically. I have had friends return after 10+ years, when they are finally ready to deal.

Thanks Jini and Jen. What a beautiful story of two friends bonding with each other and with the herd. I especially like the ways that you both follow your intuition and your deep trust in the herd. The story of Montaro needing to wack Jen’s head is priceless and gave me a good chuckle.

Wow, Wow and more Wow’s. This is so relevant and needed to walk through my open door of my directed life’s journey. Thank both of you for sharing and touching me on so many levels. I love knowing that we are all energy, no matter the physical form, and we are all connected. This has validated that my morning mantra, I Create Benevolence in my Life Today and Embrace All with Compassion, has me on my intended path of empowered life and abundant healing.
    Peace to all beings,

As always a mountain of gratitude to you Jini and your beautiful, beautiful herd. Your wonderful gifts and insights keep coming and every week I am speechless and deeply moved!!
I loved the video and thank you to Jenna and Kenneth; these sacred experiences are unforgettable; I have had similar ones and live to have more…
I like the mention of setting an intention; and see the importance of distinguishing intention from agenda…I don’t always have an intention and leave myself open as to what wants to happen… but it’s true, a more focused dialogue becomes possible when there is some kind of intention.
I also would LOVE to come and visit some day!
    Hugs to all,
    : ))) xxxxxx

The healing came through to me in such a profound way. I sobbed and sobbed. It was so pertinent to my journey. Letting go so much and the grief associated, yet realizing we are all connected and so much more that is too deep for words.
I felt the herd touching me on a very deep level. The love is just….so accepting and pure. I just cried with joy! Like coming home.
Thankyou Aude, Montaro and herd for loving me.
And thanks Jini and crew for sharing this beautiful, sacred space.
    Big hugs
    Erin
ps. I will be sharing this vid with others who need it. xo

Oh how wonderful Erin – THIS is why the horses are here, and why they ask me to film them. We often have NO IDEA what we’re going to film, we just turn the cameras on and follow their lead. So thank you so much for sharing your experience. It’s wonderful to know people can have this depth of experience via video, that the horses can extend their blessing to as many people as wish to receive.

Where do I start?! A hundred thumbs up from my heart alone, and joining with all others! Besides the transformative spiritual impact, the presentation itself is a beautiful dance of human and horse, spirituality and artistry. Jenna’s natural beauty, facial animation, her transparency and articulation, the beautiful backdrop interspersed with perfectly timed and supportive video clips of the horses in their power positions is so becoming of “the horse,” and the whole of it was (is) wrapped in love and wisdom.

Oh! The hovering heads of horses! I had one who would hover over me when I was engaged in an art project in the barn, and two of them would sandwich me, one on each side of my easel as I was painting. That was years ago and though I was taken by it, I had no idea of the privilege and the underlying gift they were bringing that has taken years to come into bloom. The spiritually powerful experiences that Jenna described with the horses, the total surrender, the message of unconditional love, sitting under the horses’ heads, all resonated with me. When she called it sacred, my heart said yes! This is not a fly by night nor just an intriguing experience of horses, it is a serious and sacred work. The horses take us to the core, beyond skepticism and straight to the heart, to unconditional love.

I especially picked up on the skepticism she described, since recently I too have had a huge release from my own skepticism even after 30 years of incredible experiences with my own herd as teachers and gurus. I too got a “head whack,” but not literally. It was a severe case of colic with one of my horses, the oldest, 90 in human years. It was death threatening with vets hours away as he, unresponsive to all my knowledgeable body and energy work in the early stages, violently thrashed for hours against the ground, the fence, the water trough, or anything in his way, myself included. In desperation, I hid myself away in the barn and took an intuitive action. A short while later, I found him sleeping peacefully on the ground. However, as incredulous as it may seem to you, I didn’t get the connection. It took me 4 bouts of colic within a month to get the connection between my intuitive action and his release from colic, and to finally follow my intuition immediately by the 4th time, then no more colic since that final one months ago. What I hadn’t realized until the last time, was that the first and worst night, I had taken an intuitive action shortly before I found him quiet and sleeping. Amazingly, I didn’t put it together that night, until looking back from a new place of knowing. That moment sent the skeptic away with its tale (hmm…a typo but it works!) between its legs. Jenna mentioned that she was beginning to doubt that she had heard Montaro correctly about the head whacking and at that moment he whacked her. I am suspecting skepticism is more of a suppressant to our full potential than we realize. It took me 30 years to accept what I had been getting intuitively all those years and even with repeated confirmations, but somehow it just didn’t take. My herd has been adamant about my not doubting and to stop looking for ways my intuition must be wrong, instead of owning it and entering it, and embracing it as the return of the long lost lover of my soul. They are showing me how it opens up new perspectives and experiences. It is not something frivolous to simply play with. No. As the horses have shown in the video, it is sacred and deep and embodies the foundation of life itself.

For me, the “head whacking” happened at the end of the road for me and I fully surrendered to what seemed the inevitable with my horse which was death. So For Jenna, I am curious if the head whack for her was associated with her moment of doubt as it sounded in the video, which ultimately brought her release from it and into unconditional love. Was he waiting for the doubt to surface? As she said, it is about letting go and loving anyway…and it is also about receiving it, as one of my horses reminded me. After the skepticism left, she told me it was all about love and for the first time, I got it. The next day, she told me it was about “receiving” love. I got that, too. That is when I found this website which has validated my somewhat lonely but life changing journey with the horses as their protege!

In this new love adventure, I am experiencing lovingkindness in ways that were never accessible to me until I surrendered to it. I’ve been good at facing hardship! One horse who has a history of laminitis and founder taught me year after year to follow through on a specific intuitive task which had to do with my calling of being an advocate for the horses, and then he got better even if still on the green grasses. He gave me an inspired tool on my journey, and that was to expect the best even when it seemed he was in trouble. When I was able to do that, he walked away and engaged with another horse playfully letting me know all was well. If I came in fear, doubt, or anger, he would hardly be able to move. (sometimes I wonder if the whole thing is just theatrics for my personal growth). I knew what I was being taught but was unable to integrate it into my being and had to constantly relearn. It wasn’t until the recent release from skepticism after the colic incidents, that I did the reckless thing of walking away from my source of income supporting the horses, but a job that left me tired and with little time to do what I’ve been called to do. The surrender happened in the way Jenna described where it didn’t matter what might happen, I had to do it. I had to become an advocate for the herd full time. Since then, Shaman Tal for the first time has been free of the symptoms of laminitis. Not only that, but in lovingkindness, every day for weeks, he has gone out of his way to reassure me that he was (is) fine even though I would come daily choosing to trust but feeling concern , and each time a bit worried that I might have worn out his patience. He would run unexpectedly, or walk with a lilt, be integrated with the herd and not isolating, move quickly after another horse to nip a rear end, and one time washed his feet playfully in the water trough! I’m finding his patience to be eternal. This has been an amazing journey as their protege. Their purpose has been to teach me their way of being which I have called the mystical path, and now I understand it to be the path of love.

I am on a specific love journey with my most unlikely horse which is another story I will share on your post,Jini, about Audi becoming your mother love. My Amoura is literally redefining love for me. She sits on my shoulder in her shapeshifted smaller version and whispers to me every time I have that home place, or mystical response, and says, “That is love.” When I step out of my car and smell the ocean air as it merges instantly with a history of delicious feelings from olfactory experiences, she quietly says, “That is love.” When I stand at ocean edge, seeing and feeling the delicate and pearly blue of water and sky that transports me to another world, she whispers, “That is love.” When I experience Shaman’s reassurance, her whisper fills my being, when I stand in the middle of a herd circle as they meditate, I know it as love, and know it to be more than energy, it is beyond energy, endless, and forever, always carrying a new mystery to be discovered.

At the risk of being overly gushy: Thanks for allowing me to come more fully out of the closet in this forum. Thanks for being kindred spirits and teachers of expanded ways of listening to horses! And thanks to Jenna for being such an awe inspiring and beautiful messenger, and to you, Jini, for being so tuned in and such a remarkable teacher. My eyes were well washed while watching the video, and my heart and soul rejuvenated!

      Yes. Yes. And YES.

Thank you so much for sharing your stories and your process with us. I love the messages from Amoura – I will take that with me and use it as a mantra. Namaste.

I see skepticism as something that cycles, rather than something that is, or isn’t. Sometimes I’m deep in the communication, deep in the link with my animals, or nature – it is so SURE it seems self-evident. And then other times I’m questioning everything – running all my thoughts, experiences, feelings through a veracity-meter. I’ve learned to hold myself loosely. And to always be open. I think growing up evangelical Christian purged me of the desire to say, THIS is truth. I just tell my stories. I say, ‘this is what I’ve experienced thus far’ and let the rest go. Because at the end of the day, we get to choose. We can choose our interpretations, we can choose our paradigms, our lens, our filter, our focus, etc etc.

Two people standing side-by-side have exactly the same experience – one sees/feels magic, the other fear. Which is the truth? Of course, they both are. Because we get to choose.

By the way, did you receive my email in response to the email you sent last week? If not, check your junk/spam folder… xox

WOW, thank so much. It doesn’t get much more real than this open, raw and in the moment communication between humans and horses and between humans and humans sharing the most incredible experiential horse stories. Stories that bring us to the edge of scepticism, stories that have the potential to open us to a deeper “yes” to life, to those moments when an accumulation of all of the yeses take us to closer to opening our lens to “This is Love” and ultimately to choosing love over fear.

LOVE what you’ve written here Joan! I’m currently working on a healing Workshop series with Jenny, Guliz and others and what you’ve written here would be a great explanation for how/why this method of experiential learning (through video) is so powerful. I would love to use it on the information page, when the time comes!
